JOZANI FOREST TOUR
Visit the Jozani Forest, located in the centre of the Jozani-Chwaka Bay National Park, the only National Park in Zanzibar Unguja land. It has 502 km located at 38km South East of Stone Town. The forest is a great place to encounter many indigenous varieties of flora and fauna, best known for its kirks Red Colobus Monkeys which are endemic to Zanzibar. Also at Jozani is a great place to visit the Mangrove swamp and walk around the Mangrove forest which is extremely crucial to Zanzibar’s ecosystems, providing a habitat for many lizards, snakes, and bird life as well as preventing erosion.
Other species that you might catch a glimpse of include Blue Sykes’ Monkeys, Bush Pigs, Aders Duiker Antelopes, Elephant Shrews, Chameleons and numerous Butterflies.
